ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL

We understand that each person is unique.  Every person responds differently to each form of treatment, just as we have varying responses to the same medications. This demands that we have multiple tools available in order to provide the best patient care.  In addition, people have different goals, time constraints and budgets.  Not everyone wants to be an Olympic athlete.

We work with other healthcare providers. If you need pain treatment than we provide, we will not hesitate to refer to other health providers.

FAQs

Can you help me?

Dr. Patterson is highly trained and has over 31 years of experience.  If you are looking for conservative, non-invasive, non-surgical treatment options, then chiropractic may be for you.  Dr. Patterson offers a free 15 minute consultation to see if you he believes he can help.  He will tell you if he feels he cannot help or if your goals and expectations are beyond what he has to offer.

How many visits will I need?

In a 1000 case study, lumping all conditions together, it was found that the average number of visits for a patient to return to a pre-injury state, 100% relief or maximum improvement was 12 visits over a 29 day period.   Obviously each case is unique and some conditions respond faster than others.

We often treat patients using what is called the rule of 50%.  For every 50% the patient improves, we cut the frequency of treatment we are using in half.

What will it cost?

We strive to provide quality care at a reasonable cost. Time of Service discounts are available for cash patients or those who have high deductible plans and do not wish to use their insurance.

The typical new patient exam is $100 – $110. Regular visits typically cost $45.00 –  $65.00.

Medicare (excluding Advantage plans): After the initial exam is paid, the typical medicare visit ranges from $0.00 – $15.88.

What happens on the first visit?

The first visit is typically the longest. Plan to be in the office about 1 hour, if you have already completed your forms online.  You will meet with the doctor to review your history and symptoms. An examination will be performed and the initial findings will be discussed. Most patients are able to receive treatment the first day.  Click here for more details about the first visit.

What should I wear to appointments?

We can treat with most types of clothing in all seasons. Something comfortable and looser fitting is preferable, particularly for the initial examination or re-exams.  Avoid dresses when possible. We have shorts and gowns available if needed.  Some patients prefer to bring their own shorts if we are working on areas such as hips and knees.

Do you work with or refer to other providers?

Yes.  No one profession has the cure-all for all conditions.  When managing chronic pain and chronic conditions, it often takes a multidisciplinary approach.  Patients should not feel they have to only go to one provider or another.

We have relationships with other conservative care providers such as Naturopaths and  other Chiropractors with different skill sets. We also refer to medical providers in Pain Management, Neurosurgeons, Orthopedic Surgeons, Rheumatologists, and Physical Therapists.

Do you have to "pop" my back? Is it going to hurt?

The short answer is no, you do not have to have your back “popped.” In addition to traditional manual manipulation, we use a variety of techniques and methods that do not involve “popping” or clicking. We work as pain free as possible when adjusting the spine and other joints.

Cox Flexion Distraction decompression manipulation is a specialized form of decompression adjusting. We don’t generally expect popping or clicking with this technique. This is the most common form of adjusting that Dr. Patterson performs.

Instrument adjusting is another technique used in the clinic that does not involve popping or clicking.

Many people think of traditional manual manipulation when they hear the word Chiropractic.  When the joint releases, gas escapes and produces a popping sound. Some people love it, some people hate it, others are scared or just don’t like the sound.  While it is a safe and effective procedure for many conditions, it is not for everyone.

Do you treat more than spinal conditions?

Yes!  We treat all the extremities – from shoulders to feet.  We also do enzyme therapy which is a nutritional approach to care.  See our services for a more extensive list of what we do.
