Are you one of the millions of people who suffer with migraine headaches? It is estimated that 36 million people in the US experience migraine headaches. Women are predominantly affected by this condition.  I want to share a nutritional protocol that may help reduce the frequency and severity of these headaches.

Headaches have multiple triggers and causes. In many cases, treatments will help patients to manage their headaches vs cure them. People can develop sensitivities to light, sound, foods, and of course emotional and musculoskeletal stresses. I find when a combination of these things are addressed at the same time the patient often has better outcomes.

I ran across a 2019 study in the journal Cephalalgia, looking at how Coenzyme Q10 and L-carnitine supplementation reduced migraine headaches. 56 men and women between the ages of 20-40 with migraines participated. Half of them received 30mg/day of Coenzyme Q10 and 500mg/day of L-carnitine for 8 weeks. The other half of participants were given a placebo.

Results:

There was a 52% decrease in the severity of the headaches. The number of headaches reduced by 64%. There was a 50% decrease in the average duration of the headaches.

If you are struggling with migraines, this is a simple regimen to try for 2 months.
